📣 Brand new Apple Human Interface Guidelines! 📣
That’s right, we’ve completely redesigned the HIG to be more cross-platform, easier to search, and completely reorganized from high level design principles down to low-level component guidance.🧵

Legend of Zelda, Super Mario 3, and other NES masterpieces rendered in a 256 x 240 pixel space. And we can't figure out how to meet WCAG 1.4.10 (https://buff.ly/3aEBvGx)?
Maybe we need to go back to the 80's.
Weird. But ok.

Web Push is coming to Safari 16 on macOS Ventura. It sends notifications even if Safari is closed. Is built with the same web technologies as other browsers. Doesn’t require an Apple Developer Program membership. And is coming to iOS and iPadOS next year.

I’m so grateful CSS improved upon the content box model. I’m still hopeful CSS improves upon the border box model. I want intuitive inner spacing, not “tricks”, not stacking box-shadows or outlines, or crafting clever custom property calcs.
This is very cool. A free drop-dead simple web server that works on Mac & iOS.

Internet Explorer 11 will officially be killed off by Microsoft on June 15, 2022.
And on that day, a giant sigh of relief will be released by all developers worldwide 😂

Woah. I just learned that HTML file inputs can access photos, videos, and audio captured directly by the device's camera and microphone like this:

another demo!! here I'm letting CSS choose contrasting text over my swatch set, a classic design system presentation style that now I get to offload to the browser 😍

I just found out that @ChromeDevTools@twitter.com has a new #a11y panel called “Landmarks”! 💖 It can
1. show a tree view of the landmarks on a page, &
2. scrolls to a landmark u click & highlights it in the Elements panel.
The video is a screen recording of using the panel on @MozDevNet@twitter.com

I can't view your site in #Firefox? Guess it's not worth seeing in the first place if the site can't even follow the grain of the web.

I rarely (if ever) specifically ask people to share one of my videos but sunshine is a great disinfectant. Let’s make these 3 scam call centers famous. They make an estimated $18M a year scamming people of their life savings. As of vid release they were still up and running.

I re-wrote the grading system for my 6 year old. 😊
The current one does nothing but shame and guilt children, and fosters an unlearning of creative problem solving and course correcting mistakes.
Grateful for Emma's note at the bottom of the page. Guess it made a difference ❤️
