Give More Apps Rounded Corners with this GNOME Shell Extension - it's the little things that make me happy. I tend to run a pretty lean GNOME desktop with minimal extensions, but the new GTK4/libadwaita apps look amaze balls and I'm a sucker for rounded corners, so this extension makes the cut.

A nice guide by Christian Engel on how he set-up his Hugo based website to work with the IndieWeb. Read: Indiewebify me! And don't forget my webmentions!

Just finished listening to Syntax episode 491, How to Spark your Imagination and Get Excited about Coding. I have an appreciation of coding projects that serve no purpose, so I really enjoyed listening to this episode.

We have two slots available early next week. If you have not submitted a show (for a while) to #HPR then now is your time.

If you haven't done so already then send in a #introduction recording.

You can always ask @perloid or @ken_fallon for ideas.

A boost would be appreciated.

Currently developing an app for someone who wants their "soft wear" to automatically create and remember ID numbers. I don't know, sounds a bit tricky to me! 🤣

One week using 36. I initially installed it at home for personal use, but I've been so impressed with it that I'm now also using it at work. This is the first non .deb distro I've used in over 15 years and at the moment I can't see any reasons to switch back. Lovin' it!

The text editor in Nextcloud is pretty cool. Works well with Markdown notation. Seamlessly editing files in the browser and on the OS with great syncing. Haven't had a "conflict" once after a couple weeks of working with it.
Yunohost + Nextcloud + Raspberry Pi 3 B = 👍

Purchased some Ko-Lee Extreme Hot & Spicy noodles from Aldi the other week and they were proper nice. Went to get some more this week and couldn’t find them. Went online and of course I found them on Amazon. Anthony rates them very highly, and he is a “noodle connoisseur” 🤣

Spilt coffee on my keyboard and the "f" key died, so purchased a SteelSeries Apex 3 TKL as a replacement. Pretty happy with it, keys feel nice and responsive and it works well for coding. It's not totally silent (described as whisper quiet), but definitely less noisy/annoying than my previous mechanical kb. Not sure about the RGB stuff and there is no official Linux client. Not bothered anyhow, just wanted something nice to type on.

Couple of days using 36 and it feels solid. Totally unquantifiable, but it feels like less gaffer tape is used when putting the distro together, compared to say Ubuntu.

It amuses me that the package manager is called DNF, a commonly used acronym of Did Not Finish. I've yet to see it not finish 🤪

apparently my elderly neighbor has been maintaining a personal website about the history of UK photography and it is an incredible piece of work.

apparently he still uses some piece of adobe software from the 90s. there is so much care and effort here, and its such a pristine image of the early web being still updated 😭

deb-get is a neat utility for #ubuntu users. Makes installing and updating popular applications from upstream repositories and download pages super easy.

OK who can help take Matt Mullenweg up on his offer to bring up to full standards? cc: @humanetech

Not a joke: this is a very real opportunity...

Kind of reminded me of being a kid and recording the radio's top 40 charts on to cassette on a Sunday evening. It was usually crappy quality, but I'd listen to the recording all week.

Found this nifty feature today when using Shortwave, not sure about the legalities of it, but it's pretty cool to be able to instantly grab a copy of a song you've just listened to on the radio. Yeehaw! 🤠

I have encountered more image descriptions on Mastodon in 24 hours than I have in Twitter in a couple of years. Seriously. I'm not exaggerating.
As a blind person, this means a lot to me. If you read this and you describe your images, thank you so, so, so much on behalf of all of us. If you don't, now you know you'll be helping random Internet strangers make sense of your posts by typing in a few more words than usual.
