If you have any more accounts to suggest for these categories, please let me know.
Most people don't care about underlying tech or protocols so don't overly promote Fediverse integration as a major selling point.
Wordpress doesn't shout from the rooftops that it outputs Atom feeds by default. Yet, thanks to this, over 400 million websites now push out Atom feeds for aggregators and feed readers to pick up.
GitHub and StackExchange don't make a big song and dance about their Atom integration either because most of their users won't care. It just happens.
Over 4 billion people use the Web. Fewer than 10 million people use the Fediverse.
If you're a developer and wish to make the Fediverse more popular, building Fedi tools for users already in the Fediverse will barely change that number. Building Web services that just happen to have Fediverse integration will make for a massive change.
OwnCast is a sort of Fediverse alternative to Twitch. It lets people host their own video livestream with a chat window at the side, and OwnCast accounts can be followed from Mastodon etc.
If you follow an OwnCast account from Mastodon, you will see a post from them in your timeline telling you when the account has gone live.
Also, if you follow an OwnCast account or boost its posts, this will appear in the livestream's chat window (see the attached picture).
Some OwnCast accounts you can try following right now include:
@live (soulful house music shows)
@hatnix (Linux gaming streams)
@Hamish - (retro gaming streams)
(Note that some OwnCast accounts do not have Fediverse switched on yet, so they won't be visible on Mastodon etc)

Hi fediverse! Boosts appreciated on this one.
I’m part of a co-op building a platform for artists to sell art without getting exploited. I’ve been working on it for a while but there’s a lot of work to do and I could use some help. A ton of the main features are in place, but there’s still some big gaps and a lot of polish left before it can launch.
The platform is fully open source and developed in the open. It’s built on Phoenix/Elixir and Tailwindcss. Our co-op is already incorporated and established and it’s open to members that want to actually commit but you don’t need to be a member to contribute or help.
Does this sound interesting? I’d love some help! I’m also happy to answer questions. And no, you don’t need to know Elixir already. It’s pretty easy to learn for the things you’d be using it for. Even some design help would be welcome. Feel free to reply here or DM me!
It's so upsetting to see a wild field being mowed, for no reason at all. A field that I know supports frogs, dragonflies, bees, geese, and so much life if it is just left to grow until later in the summer. So senseless, so sad. The way humans just act without thinking about how they're impacting so much other life. We need more people to stop, think, notice, and care about all life.
I'm an 18 year old student in Massachusetts interested in creating lightweight projects with modern design.
