@EU_Commission since you‘re „a tech company“ with you running this instance, care to share the exact plans how social.network.europa.eu will implement this regulation on your server on a technical and legal level?

So what kind of legal GDPR trap are we in when unsubscribing from a newsletter is impossible because you do not want to accept the cookies from the company's page to unsubscribe?: https://social.johanbove.info/2022/05/11/so-what-kind-of-legal-trap-are-we-in-when

It is really saddening to see all that financial potential disappear into thin air (or black holes), when it could have been used for so much good - cancer / medicine research is extremely expensive and could use any financial backing possible - yet some people find it more important to virtually own some ugly digital image instead. And worse, then they lose even that to scammers.
#anyoneelse writes down their thoughts and notes in a file before tooting / tweeting them? Kind of like adding a cooling down phase before publicly posting? I use my Known CMS site for this too.

While the new community members section of the IndieWeb newsletter is just a tiny subset of people who are joining the IndieWeb movement by actively adding themselves to the wiki, it's been encouraging to see expanding growth both here and in the broader web (even Tumblr) and Fediverse space since Musk announced the acquisition of Twitter.
Here's to more positive growth to a healthier and happier online social experience.
Mastodon has a verification mechanism, though it looks different from Twitter's. We do not ask for your documents. Instead, if you have a website that you are known by, you can verify that you are the owner of that website.
Link to your Mastodon profile from the website, either through a visible link, or through a <link> tag in the head of the document, with a rel=me attribute, and link back to that page from your Mastodon profile. It should then get a green checkmark, like @Mastodon.
During our game of My First Monopoly (level 1), I tried selling my 4yo a plot he wanted which I had landed on before him for double the price at 2M, and he politely refused and said he'd prefer to wait and try his luck. #soproud
