Hey @markosaric @plausible - just wanted to let you know that your weekly report emails look broken in Microsoft Outlook. Nothing urgent, but something you may want to fix eventually.
@dominicduffin1 Did you see this event? I thought it may be interesting to you based on your past Interintellect salons: https://events.indieweb.org/2022/01/indiewebcamp-popup-analog-meets-online-b8c2zEb33yBS
I just saw an example of how @bookwyrm posts look like when followed from @Mastodon and if I wasn't already excited about interoperability I would be now. #fediverse
I'd like to remind you all that while Firefox may not be great, Chrome is a lot worse and telling people not to use Firefox is just going to push most of them back to Chrome. Demanding that people go "all the way" and rejecting incremental steps is pretty high on the list of reasons why free/libre/open/non-megacorp software isn't more popular.
One thing that would cause me to become more active on Mastodon is cross-posting, because I'd find it hard to decide whether a post goes to Mastodon or to Twitter. I'm just not happy with the existing solutions; I have some ideas on building something myself but haven't got the time to follow through.
Imagine you are a vegan activist.
Would you want 5 people to go 100% vegan or 500 who are at least 20% vegan?
On top of this, imagine trashing the 495 who are not 100% vegan but are trying.
How do you think they feel about you and your cause?
More importantly which path saves more animals?
For people who use multiple social networks, for example Mastodon and Twitter: do you crosspost everything? If so, how? If not, how do you decide where to post?
More broadly: do you think of your social media profiles as different carriers of the same message or different aspects of your personality?
If you're interested in #SocialMedia, the #Indieweb, or how we interact and present ourselves online in general, you should attend the virtual salon that @dominicduffin1 hosts next Saturday: https://interintellect.com/event/our-spaces-on-the-internet-personal-websites-and-social-media-2/
At #Fairphone we believe a fairer electronics industry is possible. Care for the environment and people should be a natural part of doing business. #daretocare #earthday2021 #restoreourearth
A few notes after reading @lukas posting on personal CRM: Personal CRM as a Not-LinkedIn, the CRM notes I keep are centered on remembering context.

11/ So #Signal gives people: dead-simple setup, store-and-forward delivery, encrypted everything, encrypted voice/video calls, ability to send photos/video encrypted. If you are going to tell someone "it's so EASY to get your texts away from Facebook and AT&T", THIS IS THE THING you've got to point them to. It may not be in 2 years, but for now, it is. Do not let the perfect be the enemy of the good. It advances the status quo without harming usability, which nothing else does yet.
