By the way, I don't get paid for sharing these links. This is a friend of mine streaming. So yeah, check it out. Good stuff!

There's Electron of course. I like the idea because then that's really accessible to many devs, and the perf issues in the situation I'm thinking about wouldn't be so bad. However, taking on the security model of a pseudo-browser for a local-only app feels like the wrong move.
It's also a bit tricky because I may not be the person maintaining it or building it up long-term. So dumping a new ecosystem & language onto a team may not be the best call.
I've been looking into making native-ish apps instead of web apps for potential upcoming projects. Ideal setup is a declarative setup with simple Elm-architecture like state management. Prefer it to be flexible on what editors and tooling is available.
Flutter so far seems like one of the better options, though I love the look of Fabulous. Lots of research to be done though.
Great Christmas track list from my neighbor this year. Check them out! https://soundcloud.com/kmsheehan/sets/xmas21
NFTs, Web3, DeFi, ETH, blockchain. I don't even know what any of it is!
I spent a bunch of time trying to figure out what I'm looking at. I just keep getting more lost. I guess NFT's are special tokens made on the Etherium blockchain to represent assets as digital things. Kinda like deeds IRL?
Think I'm a lot happier not worrying about this stuff.
NFTs. I don't even know what they are!
Seriously I have no idea what it is, but this made me laugh anyway: https://nonfungibleolivegardens.com/
A possible unintended side effect of using native built binaries for Typescript is now your build systems required pulling in different packages depending on it's environment.
Often this isn't a visible issue for projects because their build system/CI env will always restore packages every build. If not though, it gets tricky to manage.
Mainly nonsense. Weightlifting, some software dev/tech, life in general.
Important note: unless posts come with sources one should assume these are purely my own opinions. This is the internet, so that should not be surprising I hope!
