Okay wow, using Doom #emacs alongside with all of the plugins and language support options it's got really changes the entire experience.
Still gotta work through some more things, but generally feeling optimistic that I can get back into this!
Alright, so the light themes that are included with Doom Emacs are way better than any of the light themes I found for VSC. Dark themes are way more popular, and so seem to end up with better looking ones.
Interesting change of pace, and I like it! Also yes, I'm a heathen who doesn't always go for dark themes.
Contemplating trying another editor besides Visual Studio Code. I've been a fan for a long time, but with recent regressions by Microsoft on FOSS, it makes me wonder if I should change my stance.
So far, some options seem to be commercial ones (Sublime, JetBrains) which look good but aren't FOSS. Would rather keep supporting open tools.
I could explore returning to emacs, but I found it was a bit too much for me to want to setup for my work setup (typical React/TS and C#).
Any other ideas?
More seriously, always feel bad for the staff has to fix those issues. Really can't imagine what it's like in that high pressure of a situation.

For those who are interested in #tech #news communities, here is a list (today is my list day):
* Tildes (https://tildes.net/) - made by an ex-Redditor, it is designed to be an open source community website that doesn't rely on profits to survive. Also doesn't have Reddit's dark pattern. A very small, tight knit community.
* Lobsters (https://lobste.rs/) - very programmer centric community.
* Lemmy (https://lemmy.ml/) - heavily leftist community, and decentralised.

See this is why I should search for things. Looks like it already can do that for you, and possibly automatically.

Checking that out later!
Alright I should search for this first but I'll just write it as an idea first!
What would be nice in #plex would be a way to define "skip" buttons in particular video files. Something like a text file where you can specify the timestamp to start and an amount of time to jump forward when pressed. The button could show up for a fixed amount of time, though perhaps it's configurable.
Mainly nonsense. Some software dev/tech, life in general.

Important note: unless posts come with sources one should assume these are purely my own opinions. This is the internet, so that should not be surprising I hope!
