Wonder if could securely implement GIF reactions like GIPHY into it in a fashion akin to how Signal did...while still supporting privacy....

Thrown my Keybase account in the bin along with Google, Facebook, Twitter and many more. Gone back to #XMPP for my group messaging now.

#Tusky 11 is out since a few days. This time we did not make big changes, but quite a lot of polishing and some small new features, most of which can be toggled with a setting:
- Notifications about new follow requests when your account is locked
- disable swiping between tabs
- show a confirmation dialog before boosting a toot
- show link previews in timelines

Oh so apparently there is a #DeleteKeybase thing. I'll put it again, if you only used keybase so people knew what accounts you were on (FB, madtofon, YT, matrix ect...) you can achieve that via or
check for exemple my ! (i think this one is opensource too)

Mastodon Has Always Allowed Employees To Work From Home And Will Continue To Do So

Google: "Hi, we're Google, and we're replacing our Google Play Music Podcast Portal with Google Podcast Manager because Youtube Music will replace Google Play Music and we are ..."

Me: This whole thing is really a Rube Goldberg machine, isn't it?

Hey, what other Mastodon hosting providers exist besides and Are there any?

The reason I'm asking is that if I add more notification types in the future that line of icons will start looking like a sardine can, and, frankly, I don't see the value of having all that granularity for stuff like "a poll I voted in has ended", so I was hoping for once nobody's using this off-by-default feature so I could just remove it and leave just the one that gives tabs for "All" and "Mentions" because that's actually useful on a day to day basis

By Rutger Bregman:

"For a long time there’s been a belief that greed is what drives us. That humans are inherently selfish creatures who fight for themselves and their own. It’s survival of the fittest, and everything – schools, law, democracy – has been shaped around that belief."

"But what if it’s not survival of the fittest, but survival of the kindest, most cooperative?"

BTW, if you don't know who Rutger Bregman is, then you should really see this #invidious video of him in action at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2019. It's a *must see* I'd say:

@humanetech let's all start curating lists of open source solutions! People without coding skills can already contribute to #foss in so many ways, and here's one more excellent tool!

And being treated like a human being in digital world is impossible if we don't switch to #SoftwareLibre.
