I'd like to set up a server running some different software platforms (e.g., mastodon, peertube, hubzilla), with a limited number of users. I am interested in how easily data originating from the different platforms integrate in practice, therefore I'd like a way to identify users across the different platforms. Does anyone have any advice for setting up such a solution with regard to user identities? Can you recommend any technologies to explore? #dataintegration #activitypub #fediverse

Briefly looked over the Mastodon v0.1 codebase this morning on my mobile.

Interesting to see templates/views were mostly haml, with some REST API endpoints.

Are you looking for people to follow on Mastodon and the Fediverse?

Click below for a directory of hundreds of recommended follows organised into 45 topics:

➡️ mastodon.online/@FediFollows/1

(If a category has several pages of follows, click "show older" at the bottom to see the next page.)

This is just a tiny fraction of accounts on here, but hopefully it will give people's timelines a good start.

Please do share this with anyone you think might benefit, for example people new to the Fediverse.

At the end of the day remind yourself that you did the best you could today, and that is good enough. ~ Lori Deschene

Getting very intrigued with the whole #indieweb idea.

Friend Camp has about 50 active users and I just noticed we have more than half a million posts here since August 2018! I mean that's 11 a day per person on average but still. That seems wild to me.

Last I checked something like 75% of our posts are unfederated. That's still 125 thousand posts sent to the fediverse. I think local-only posting increases the vitality of community, increasing the volume of overall activity, and contributing more to the fediverse than a less vital instance would.

Before you jump into the weekend, don't forget: this Monday April 26 10 am CEST we are excited to have a 2nd webinar on #ActivityPub for administrations!

Together w @cwebber & #fediverse enthusiasts ( creators of Matrix-bridge #Kazarma, podcast solution @Castopod & others) we explore how ActivityPub works and its exciting evolution ( & hopefully convince public institutions to join the fediverse :metamorph: )

There's a discussion going on about whether the Fediverse should set up a governance structure to decide its future

I think that the Fediverse should be governed as a co-operative ! I don't think it makes sense to govern a decentralised network with a centralised hierarchy ?

@Gargron

This is great, thank you! 🙏

This is why I originally started FediFollows, to make up for the lack of follow suggestions for new members.

Obviously I will continue with FediFollows (partly because Fediverse is more than just Mastodon!), but very glad to hear that there are going to be onboarding suggestions on the most widely used platform software.

To continue with my mastodon deployment updates, my instance has moved to a "server" in a closet room from my workstation.

Hello everyone. We published a blog post about the current state of maintainership at Funkwhale today: blog.funkwhale.audio/~/Announc
